This pelagic microplastic collection in the northeast Asia is very interesting! I am really wondering how fast the fragmentation from meso- to micro- at sea is... On one side, Andrady (Andrady et al. 2011) says it can be years or decades, but on the other side Cozàr (Cozàr et al. 2014) is considering the fast nano-fragmentation as a potential process occuring to the floating plastic...
