IUCN World Conservation Congress Hawai'i 2016

This week the IUCN World Conservation Congress is held in Honolulu for a sustainable ocean.

We noticed some interesting program concerning plastic pollution :

- The smallest biggest plastic pollution event in the World (02/09/2016)

- Closing the Plastic Tap with IUCN (04/09/2016)  / see Carl Gustaf Lundin, Director, Global Marine and Polar programme IUCN, presentation document in attachment.

- Conservation of coastal ecosystems and marine mammals through understanding of marine debris drivers, accumulation trends and distribution (03/09/2016)

  1. It was really great seeing marine litter and plastics getting so much attention at the Oceans & Islands Pavilion. Many people attended the sessions. Additionally there were two workshops scheduled- one was canceled but participants held the session anyway and there was a constructive conversation of problems and solutions from all around the room and the world.
