Animals eat ocean plastic because it smells like food

A new study explains why seabirds eat so much plastic,

At the University of California, Gabrielle Nevitt analysed 25 species of seabirds to see how they respond to DMS.

“Right off the bat, we saw a trend: It looked like the DMS responders were consuming more plastics,” says Nevitt.
