For those who didn't follow the live panel debate this morning. Discussions were focused on the end-of-life of products. The European Commission hope to deliver a circular economy package in the beginning of next year including the 3 famous R: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Their is a real need to change the economic model, "everyone (associations, consumers, industries...) needs to be involved and have to play it role", said Daniel Calleja Crespo. Prevention comes in many different ways. The first aim of this circular economy package is to reduce landfill and the release of plastic waste on the marine environment by prevention, policy, encouraging product innovation (ecodesign) and recycling. A plastic strategy is coming, to work at every level of the value chain.
