Ellen MacArthur Foundation & Prince of Wales's ISU launch prize to help keep plastics out the ocean

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, together with The Prince of Wales's International Sustainability Unit, have launched the $2 million New Plastics Economy Innovation Prize which calls for innovators, designers, scientists and entrepreneurs to find new ways of designing packaging to help keep plastics out of the ocean . The Prize is funded by Wendy Schmidt as lead philanthropic partner of the New Plastics Economy initiative.

This is a great boost to creating a circular economy.  I love the connection between the USA (Schmidt Family Foundation and 11th Hour Racing) and the UK (Ellen MacArthur Foundation & Prince of Wales ISU....and we have Land Rover BAR here in Bermuda at the moment and they are at the top of sustainability achievements in sports) and all that Race for Water are trying to achieve with a new plastics economy....and that R4WO is expected in Bermuda next week as the first stopover on their 5-year expedition!  These are exciting times!
